This brew is part of a series of hazy ales we are naming after mystical and mythical plants, as we also share veneration for the wonder and magic of plant science, deep rooted across generations and cultures. The perpetual quest for hop balance has led us in interesting uncharted directions, like the crafting of curious recipes, and the creation of unique and novel hop profiles.
The Black Bat starts the chase with fresh citrus notes up front, layered with crushed gooseberry and passion fruit, and then winks at key lime, white grapefruit, and tart tropical fruit. The malt base, being ultra-clean and delicate, allows Riwaka’s punchy aromatics to dominate. Bitterness is firm but refined and accentuates just a touch of citrus peel.
